Patch Tuesday, April 2026 Edition

Microsoft today pushed software updates to fix a staggering 167 security vulnerabilities in its Windows operating systems and related software, including a SharePoint Server zero-day and a publicly disclosed weakness in Windows Defender dubbed "BlueHammer." Separately, Google Chrome fixed its fourth zero-day of 2026, and an emergency update for Adobe Reader nixes an actively exploited flaw that can lead to remote code execution.

SonicWall's Zero-Day Provokes Patch Alerts

Preauthentication Deserialization Flaw Could Result in Remote Code ExecutionSoftware vendors and national security agencies are urging immediate patching of a critical SonicWall flaw days after the security device manufacturer disclosed that hackers are actively exploiting a zero-day. The flaw doesn't require user authentication.

The November 2024 Patch Tuesday update contains a substantially high percentage of remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities (including a critical issue in Windows Kerberos), and two other zero-day bugs that have been previously disclosed and could soon come under attack.
